Remember those initial freedoms of vaping that are now becoming very rare as vaping is forced to follow the same public restrictions as cigarette smoking. Those were the golden days of vaping. Here you were for the first time in a long time as a smoker walking into movie theaters and restaurants feeling free and empowered to truly enjoy yourself while vaping. Saying you can’t tell me to stop smoking; Im not smoking “I’m vaping”. Feeling further empowered and proud to explain the health differences and all the new advancements that was and still is saving lives.
Perhaps for some they felt a little too empowered and vaped with complete disregard to the fragile arrangement that this gray area represented. We can all remember some of those ego driven vapers blowing rebellious clouds, just because they felt they legally could. Give an inch many will take a mile. Many vapers where happy to just enjoy this new found freedom with grace and humility. Silently vaping as discreetly as possible as not to draw too much attention to themselves. Anyone looking at the smoking vs vaping logic at the time, knows this is very much a fragile arrangement. Even though vaping only has 2 to 4 of the ingredients of smoking, it still carries the nicotine just like smoking. Unless you are quote “Ghosting” your inhaled vape, you are releasing nicotine.
Non smokers are no different than smokers. We can all deduce that vaping carries nicotine and thus second hand vape in fact has some nicotine in it. Our lungs are not perfect nicotine filters. Even 1 part per trillion would be too much and worth banning to many non smokers. Something new always leads with some level of confusion and unsureness of what it represents, but it wasn’t rocket science to know public use banning was in vaping’s future like cigarettes . It is a shame too, because it was a little like living the freedoms of 65 years ago.
